We are delighted and very proud to announce that thanks to the hard work and skill of Ayesha and Freddie in Year Eight, Dolphin has won the National Shakespeare in Schools Festival Marketing Competition!

From 18th September until 12th November 2009, in 67 professional theatres across the UK, 10,000 11-18 yr olds performed half-hour versions of some of Shakespeare's greatest plays.

Every participating school was invited to enter a competition showcasing the marketing material devised to promote their own school's performance.

Dolphin performed Midsummer Night's Dream to a sell-out audience at Norden Farm Arts Centre on October 6th and there is no doubt that Ayesha and Freddie's efforts swelled the number of tickets purchased by Dolphin families. They designed posters and flyers and put together the fantastic promotional video you can see below.

The prize Ayesha and Freddie have secured is a visit to Dolphin by a Marketing Consultant from a top London agency who will run a workshop for us.

In preparation for the performance the cast attended a workshop at Norden Farm run by members of the National Youth Theatre.

The workshop, held on Monday 14th September, was such a success that the entire company were asked to audition for the National Youth Theatre by the NYT representatives running the session!

The afternoon's activities were fun, stimulating and thought provoking. The children were treated like professional actors and even got to go on the stage they would be performing on during the Festival.

You will see a few pictures of the performance and Norden Farm workshop by visiting our Image Gallery.
