Today (Tuesday 6th October 2009) we did the tech rehearsal and the dress rehearsal. We also saw another school that will be performing on the night doing their dress rehearsal. After weeks of rehearsing, and learning lines, we’re finally ready for the performance tonight. We’re about to have our Wagamama’s dinner before the performance at 7:00pm, at Norden Farm. We’re going last as clearly they’re saving the best till last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am marketing Dolphin’s performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream and I have been very impressed with their dedication and the hard work that went into the play. Earlier today, the actors performed their dress and tech rehearsal and they looked like professional actors up onstage. Sir William Ramseys Schools were bowled over! After watching weeks of rehearsing and practising it was amazing to see the finished piece come together and they performed it amazingly and I look forward to seeing their performance tonight.

(Before the tech run on Tuesday morning.)
We are all looking forward to today because we are going to perform our Midsummer Night’s Dream. Everyone is worrying it is going to go wrong, but I think that its going to go FINE. At the moment we are heading off to Norden Farm to do our tech run and our dress rehearsal.

(After the tech run......)
It went really well but Judy STILL pointed out a few mistakes somehow (fussy!). We have also got all the lights sorted which luckily is not that complicated. After lots of days of stress it seems to be going our way tonight. I have to say Katie’s face painting skills are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

At the moment I am trying to think of a way to eat my chow-mien without ruining my wonderful face paint. It’s NOT funny because I would look incredibly weird on stage with a streak down my chin without face paint.

Without Judy we would have got absolutely NOWHERE, every little detail is perfect and now it’s all perfect in my view, but in Judy’s mind there are probably a thousand different things to make it better.

Everyone has looked at their lines loads, and there’s nothing more to do except to get our exits and entrances right. Tonight, guys its going to be so fun, its going to be an experience of a lifetime!

Today was very hectic because almost as soon as we got to school, we were mini-bussed off to Norden Farm to do our tech and dress rehearsal. It went really well and everyone was doing amazing acting. There was a sticky moment when Christian forgot his lines, but everyone else thought it was just part of the play!

In the tech, there was some really cool lighting, like when they put something over the light so it said ‘Shakespeare Schools Festival’ on the curtain. Also, there was one where the lights went all blotchy, so the stage looked like a forest floor. The dressing rooms were boiling hot and when I was told to ’breathe deep’ because I was nervous, it was so stuffy in the room I found it hard to.

After our dress, we went out into the café while Sir William Ramsey School did their tech rehearsal. Judy bought us all crisps while we were waiting. Not long after, we went to see Sir William Ramsey School do their dress rehearsal- they had watched our dress too. They were performing ‘As You Like It’, and they were good. When we came back to school, we started to eat our lunch in the hall, but then there was a massive fire drill and we did some rehearsing on the tennis courts instead.

My favorite part of the A Midsummer Night's Dream play is the makeup with the glitter sequins and bold outlines. The rehearsals have been very stressful with everyone forgetting their lines or queues .There were numerous rehearsals on weekends, but overall we were tight for time.

On the sixth we are performing at Norden farm theatre which we went to earlier in the month to do a workshop and get a feel of the theatre. During the process of rehearsing everyone was stressed and tired (including Judy).

The play is a very good play. Today we had a dress rehearsal at Norden farm, it went really well.
