Spring Earth Pledge Award

Welcome to our new Earth Studies blog. Each term we will highlight Earth advocates from the Dolphin community to celebrate positive activism in support of our planet. Throughout the curriculum, Dolphin children learn how to protect our environment, to live peacefully, healthily and ethically. We hope that this creates interesting discussions at home and would like to celebrate the great choices our community is making.

Our first recipient of the Earth Pledge Award is Sophie in Year 4. Well done Sophie! Sophie kindly adopted a polar bear for the class rather than sending Christmas cards to her class this year. Click on the link below to view Sophie's note to her friends.

Spring Fairtrade Focus

The country has just celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight and in Earth Studies we will be exploring why and how Fairtrade helps farmers receive a reasonable share of the profits from all the chocolate we eat. Children will be encouraged to look out for Fairtrade Easter eggs. Locally we’ve spotted some at Waitrose, Sheeplands and Stubbings Garden Centre. Let us know how you get on and you may be in line for next month's award.

To be nominated for an Earth Pledge Award, please send your photos and information to clewis@dolphinschool.com
