Bryn Terfel

After a challenging three hour climb Year Seven were looking forward to reaching the top of Snowdon and taking a break. As they approached the final ridge they were very surprised, to say the least, to hear piano music in the distance, and even more surprised as they climbed over the ridge to see a grand piano and BBC film crew, and to hear the wonderful voice of Welsh baritone, Bryn Terfel.

The group stopped to watch the filming and listen to the music and were delighted when Mr Terfel took a moment to chat with them and have a picture taken with them. The drama and excitement were compounded by the arrival of a helicopter which was filming the scenes from above.

The encounter certainly put a spring in the children's steps as they began their decent, and they even attempted to sing the music they had heard earlier!
