Holiday Memories

My favourite holiday memory happened when I helped my dad lift a desk. As we were carrying the desk into the house, the kittens were trying to squeeze through the door while we were struggling to get inside. The two kittens had just had their injections at the vets down in Tilehurst, so they were feeling very scared when they arrived at the house. Suddenly, unknown to us, one of them flew outside as fast as a cheetah and jumped into the van!

The next morning I had been searching the entire house looking for my playful kittens. The kittens' names are Sid and Ginger, they are both ginger and white, and look like a fluffy ping pong ball you want to squeeze and cuddle, and they are sneaky  because they were still in the van. When dad started the engine, it sounded strange, so he opened the door and checked the engine. The engine was fine so dad jumped back in the van and realized the high pitched noise, "Meoow!" was coming from the back of the van. Dad opened the back doors and two small kittens launched themselves out, almost hitting him with their tails. The kittens were very scared and hungry, they were shivering out of the boots.

I had been in the house still looking for Sid and Ginger because they were so small they could fit in my brother's shoe. Fifteen minutes later, I was watching television in my room when suddenly a bang came from the front door, so I went downstairs and answered it. My dad was standing there, holding two kittens, one in each hand. He didn't look very happy.

When dad put Sid and Ginger down they ran straight to the back of my TV and relieved themselves, which we found later! Dad was very angry, but he slowly thawed as the kittens nudged and nuzzled his hands; they were so cute and cuddly he started to smile.

This is my funniest and favourite memory of the summer holiday.
