As part of our week looking at three dimensional art we had a guided tour around some of the sculptures in South Hill Park. We touched the cold metal bull statue made of rusted wrought iron! We then looked at ‘Totem’ a structure carved out of wood in the same way as a totem pole is made. Finally we explored ‘Gravity 12’ a structure held up by thick heavy chains.

As we headed through the woods towards the arts centre we collected Autumn leaves ready for our clay workshop. Our tutor Adam then showed us how to make a leaf print by pressing it down on clay using a rolling pin which the children loved doing. They also did painting and printing with the leaves.

We had a busy morning however did manage to have a snack on the lovely patio overlooking the park which looked wonderful in the Autumn sun.
