Matt has just made a film about the Court of European Human
Rights. He interviewed an MP for the government's view and then went to
Brussels to film the rest of the documentary. He then faced the Prime
Minister on
The One Show and questioned him
about the dilemma facing a government who wants to have the final say
on internal matters while a court made up of 47 judges is ruling on
almost everything.

Oscars for Dolphin
Old Delphinian,
Christian Bale won an Oscar in 2011 for Best Supporting Actor for his role in
The Fighter to bring Dolphin's Oscar tally to four
. He starred in
Empire of the Sun in 1987 which was nominated for a number of Oscars. Christian won Best Juvenile Actor, an award especially created for him by the National Board for Review of Motion Pictures. The role won him international acclaim.

Douglas Chalmers
Douglas Chalmers, Class of '81, who was one of the original 25 pupils at Dolphin, has been awarded an O.B.E. in March 2010 for his work in Afghanistan. Douglas is now a Colonel in the army in command of the 2nd Battalion of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment of 750 men. In 2003 he received an MBE for Iraq. In 2011 Douglas made Brigadier.

Jesse Johnson is working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. On July 30th his latest film, Charlie Valentine, which he both wrote and directed, won Best Picture, Best Action Film, Best Cinematography and Best Score at the Action on Film International Festival 2009 held in Pasadena, California. Blake Ritson
Blake Ritson is a West End and television actor who appeared as Mr Elton in the BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma in October 2009. Blake also appeared as Edmund Bertram in the ITV dramatisation of Mansfield Park and recently as Idek in a star studded cast for God on Trial.
He starred in Rope, a grisly chiller made into a film by Hitchcock, at the Almeida in 2010.

Claire Taylor
During the February 2008 England Women's Cricket tour to Australia and New Zealand Claire was the batsman who secured England's victory in both the Ashes match and the one day series against New Zeland. England only needed to draw with Australia to retain the Ashes but they won in style with six wickets. Claire followed her first-innings 79 with an unbeaten 64, striking the winning runs. In the two wins against New Zealand it was Claire again who was vital. Having lost the first match they went on to win the second by nine wickets with 32 balls remaining. Claire hit 111 not out in as many balls. In the third match England won by six wickets with Claire making 70. Claire was named Player of the Series for her consistent form throughout.
In 2008 Claire made history by being first woman to be named one of the five cricketers of the year. In 2009 she was named one of the five international players of the year and in 2010 she received an MBE for her services to cricket.
