Lost Souls by Sarah

Silence, all is still,

Nothing moves but from deep within.

A moan, a growing groan,

Tales of old tell of souls

Trapped within, frozen in time.

They can travel everywhere

But the south,

Where the sun's glaring rays

Would penetrate their glassy surfaces

So they stay stuck in a land of grey

Where humans stay away, like they fear the south

Dangerous, beautiful, their secrets lie below the water,

Mist covers them, like a castle in the middle of a mysterious sea.

Craggy and ragged cliffs of ice

Groaning, creaking about sailors long gone.

"Iceberg, iceberg,"

Whispers the wind to the sea,

And the sea to the ice.

Icebergs, floating like lost souls on a large and lonely sea.
