Year Three

The Sea

The sea is warm

The sea is colourful

Ink blue, baby blue, turquoise and grass green

The sea is flexible like a dancer, or a rubber band

The sea is dangerous, with whirlpools and tornados

Grumpy grey, stormy black, horrifying white

The sea has sharks, whales, dolphins, fish, prawns, crabs, anemones, seaweed, lobsters, stingrays, turtles, wrecks and san

The sea is happy, guilty, sad, angry

And calm, comforting and alive

Dungbeetle

With a flop and a squelch the poo hits the hot dust

There's a flap and a thud and skutter, skutter click

The poo lovers are here!

Ready to roll up the poo

They'll dig with their shovel feet

Sharp and shiny that shape the dung

They roll with their long pointy legs

Then they dig and dig and dig

To bury the ball for their baby

Soon there'll be a new dung beetle

Year Four

Jungle

Loud monkeys

Steamy air

Huge trees

Little movements under leaves

Water bubbling

Scary loneliness

Wavy branches

Fascinating!

Exotic plants

Rustling noises

Strange and familiar

Slanting light rays

Birds whistling

Boa crushing

Swampy and wet

Creepy noises
