Snip, Snap – Time for Crab Lunch

Scuttling crab in Rockpool City,

10-legged decapod, you are so pretty;

Pointy pincers snipping and snapping,

They are your scissors and your knife and fork.

You hide in your hard shell,

In your crab cave;

For your dinner shellfish fish food,

Tiny fish for your pudding too.

Slowly sideways,

Clittering and creeping,

Maybe I’ll catch you and…..

Munch you for my lunch!

The Fish Wish Song

Fat fish swimming in the sea,

Are you hungry? Are you thirsty?

Are you spiky or are you slimy?

Thin, flat fish hiding in the sand,

Are you fast when you fly through the sea?

Are you a clever, camouflaged creature?

Are you shiny with glittering scales?

Why do you hide from me?

You’re so lovely,

Will you grant me a fish wish,

Blow bubbles to say you will.

Please be friendly,

Don’t be stinky,

Grant me my fish wish please.

Ocean

I saw a whale’s tail,

Swimming between wet water-castles;

I saw a starfish in the soft sand;

I saw fantastic colours in the sea-

Grey, blue, green, purple, white, violet;

I heard crashes,

I heard swooshes,

I heard swishes,

I heard fishes.

I surfed on the sunlight zone,

I dived to the twilight zone,

I took a submarine to visit the anglerfish in the dark zone,

I couldn’t visit the abyss……..

I had the notion,

To visit the ocean,

It was a powerful potion,

And was always in motion.
