DOLPHIN SCHOOL POLICY ON SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

We would ask parents to support us in carrying out the following policy:

All pupils are required to be in school by

8am               (Years 2-8),

8.45am           Reception and Year 1

9am                Nursery

The school day ends at

2 or 3pm in Nursery

3pm for Reception, Years 1 and 2

3.25pm  for Years 3-8.

Many pupils remain later to take part in extra –curricular activities under the supervision of a member of staff. Out of school care pupils are normally expected to leave by 5.30pm.

Pupils are not allowed to leave the site during the school day, unless accompanied by a member of staff, for trip or visit a sporting fixture, the dates of which will have been notified to you in advance.

Requests for absence must be made in writing to the Head and reach the school at least seven days in advance (except in an emergency, when parents are asked to telephone the school before 10am).

If your child is ill, please telephone or e-mail the school before 10am on the first day of absence. The details of your phone call including your name and date of your call, or your email will be held on the school file. We will always telephone the parents on the first day of an unexplained absence in order to make sure that your child has not suffered an accident. When we are unsuccessful in obtaining a reason for absence that absence will be held on the school records as “unauthorised”.

The School requests that parents do not take children out of school for holidays during term time.
