Learn more about levers, pulleys and ramps with cartoon characters. Lots of animated puzzles to solve and at the same time understand some difficult physics!!!

This science museum site has problem solving puzzles with challenges to different levels. Answers are provided for those in despair!!! Year 6 may find this particularly useful.

Launch Ball is an online physics flavoured brain teaser.

This is a classic puzzle of achieving a volume of water from two other
vessels. If you have seen Lethal Weapon then you would recognise this
puzzle. This will be referred to in Year 5 science lessons on water!!

Mechanical simulation: Working model

Working Model is an excellent way to understanding rigid body dynamics through captivating visualization and fun simulations.

Beam structure simulation: Bridge builder

At the intersection of architecture and mechanical engineering, Bridge builder is a free, fun and easy application which promotes logical thinking, innovation and material resistance.

3D Computer Aided Design: Google SketchUp

SketchUp is a 3D modelling program designed for professional architects, civil engineers... It is very intuitive, flexible, and easier to use than other 3D modeling programs.

Logical thinking: The Incredible Machine demo

The Incredible Machine (TIM)is a logical puzzle, to reach the target the player needs to build a strategy by the combination various strange components in a logical way.

Space simulation: ORBITER Space flight simulation

Do you fancy a trip into space ? This is a complete space simulator.
warning: This software is not easy to use and need some time to master as well as a strong computer configuration, but what a nice view from up there.
