My Capture by the Baby Fox (Year Four)

I lay in my dusty den feeling as if I was in a swelteringly hot oven, watching a rabbit hole leading off our den, hoping for a foolish rabbit to come out specially for me to practise my pouncing on; when suddenly I heard the padding of a dog's paws and the stomping of feet. I backed against the back of our den and the things that belonged to the feet making the noise started to make a weird sound. Then I heard a scrabbling noise and a dirty piece of metal poked through my ceiling and dug me out. I quickly lay down and pretended to be dead like ma taught me.
Alisha (Year Four)
I was digging at the side of our den...desperately. I had heard human voices and footsteps. A dog was panting wildly. It felt like the dog was panting down my neck. I had reached a rock. I clutched my heart and fell to the ground. My heart was beating like mad. Ma had taught me. But I needed to blink. I did. A huge metal thing made a horrid screeching noise. A human scooped me up in his rough hand (you see he doesn't have paws) and dumped me into a brown sack. My thoughts were all jumbled up.
Camille (Year Four)
I was sitting in my den asleep when suddenly I heard a thumping noise that woke me up. My mum was out hunting. Then I heard this speaking. I was horrified so I decided to play dead, then I saw a metal thing and a big bulky thing (I was playing dead) who dropped me in a sack and tied it up. Inside the sack I was swinging from side to side.
Sam (Year Four)
I could hear footsteps and roaring barks and this mysterious language that I couldn't understand. Suddenly the den started caving in. I hid at the back of the den, then a silver platform slid under me and pulled me out of the den. These creatures that only had fur on their heads and paws with sticky out things grabbed me and put me in this dark bed.
