Congratulations to the Dolphin Athletics Team from Years 3,4,5 & 6 for coming third out of 18 schools at the Wokingham District Sports held at Palmer Park last Thursday. There were some super performances especially from the relay teams, Cassandra in the high jump, Christian in the long jump and Adele who won the over 10 girls sprint and came away with a lovely silver cup!

Please could we remind parents and children, that there should be no tennis or football played directly in front of the school gate – either first thing in the morning or after school, as there is a danger of someone being hurt as they enter or leave the premises.

FunRaisers are going to arrange sale of unwanted walking kit/boots at the beginning of each term. The proceeds will go 50/50 to the original owners and FunRaisers. Please bring unwanted kit/boots to the school office in a bag containing your name and contact details. Kit will be offered for rent or sale. Please contact the clipper by email. palmer_lesley@btconnect.com

If your child is leaving Dolphin this term and you would like to donate any PE kit to the school could you please wash and delabel it and give it to reception or any member of the PE department. Thank you. A second hand PE kit sale will be held on the first Tuesday of next term.

Thank you to everyone who returned their club list for next term, the list will be on the club board in the Cloisters by the end of term. Please check carefully which clubs your child will be going to and the days. If you wish to make changes or have any problems with the booking please see Vivien in the office, rather than the teacher who is running the club. While we make every effort to run the clubs we have offered sometimes unforeseen circumstances oblige us to make changes.

Would parents please note that fees for the Autumn term 2008 are due on 1 September 2008.

Please collect all medications from the First Aid room before the end of term, especially if you are leaving Dolphin. Any items left will be disposed of.

Photographs of the summer production, Nicholas Nickleby, will be on display and available to order in Reception all next week. There are a number of fantastic, new group shots which were not available to view on the performance nights. If you have already submitted an order, please feel free to submit an additional one for the group shots if you would like to.

Please would everyone return their books to the library by Tuesday 15 July.

The 2008/09 Extended Synopses will be published on the website within the Dolphin Community Section under Teaching and Learning. You will need to be logged on to access this information, log on details will remain unchanged.

We are collecting Nestle Box Tops For Books again. Please save your ‘Box Tops’ tokens over the summer and bring them to school in September.

As part of the condition of Dolphin’s planning permission we are required to produce a travel plan. We have assured the council that we will promote car sharing and encourage walking or cycling to school wherever possible. The roads and paths around Hurst will only enable parents to allow children to travel in this way where they feel that the route is completely safe.
