Congratulations to Hal Watts on winning gold and becoming U11 Boys National Diving Skills Champion in Ireland last week.

REMINDER: The school will be closed on 28^th November, except for the Year 5 play practice.

May we remind you that it is Dolphin policy that children to not carry bags/briefcases etc around with them in school for Health and Safety reasons. Years 1, 2 & 3 may use blue book bags but other year groups are asked to carry books and pencil cases for two lessons only.

A pupil data check sheet has been posted to all parents. Please check the contents and return the form to the school office by 30th November.

May we remind everyone that electrical appliances should not be brought into school. All electrical appliances used on the premises must have passed a Portable Appliance Test.

The photographer will be in school to take individual photographs of the children on Tuesday 18^th November in the morning. Children will be called for in turn so should go to registration as normal.

We are once again collecting the Box Top Tokens for Books from packets of Nestle cereals. If you have any we would be very grateful for them. The collection box is in the school Reception.

Will all parents please note that if for any reason you cannot collect your children on time, they must go to After School Care (Reception to Year 5) or Homework Club (Years 6-8).

WALKING TRIPS ELIGIBILITY LIST

The list of pupils who are eligible for the walking trips (Junior Lakes, Brecon Beacons and Senior Lakes) are now on the notice board by the daily timetable. Pupils wishing to go on these trips now have to write a letter to Adam Warner explaining why they would like to go. This letter must be signed by a parent or guardian and handed to Adam by 1^st December 2008. There will be a meeting for parents of Year Four children in the Summer term to access information regarding the walking trip programme. Year Four children are not required to write a letter. If you have any queries regarding any aspect of the walking trips please see Adam.

INDULGENCE EVENING - WEDNESDAY 19TH NOVEMBER AT 7.30PM

Tickets are now on sale for what promises to be the most relaxing and indulgent FunRaisers eventfor parents so far.Free hair styling and beauty demonstrations plus colour consultant top tips. Stalls with hair and beauty products,beautiful greetings cards, clothes, jewellery, photography and more. Mini fashion show featuring Dolphin children. Also Champagne & Wine Bar, plus delicious Indian nibbles and a Chocolate Fountain.

TICKETS ONLY£5, includes a glass of bubbly & nibbles.

Sam (Huxley’s Mum) is making an art installation with a school in Wandsworth. She desperately needs donations of children’s shoes before 5^th December. Not trainers, boots or sandals please, but any worn pairs of children’s shoes – she needs hundreds! Can you help? (Sam will be in the playground most mornings/afternoons).

YEAR 1

Story Club will finish earlier, at 16.00, this week due to Parents’ Evening appointments.

YEAR 2

There was a Parents’ Evening signing-up list available in the Year 2 classroom from Monday 10^th November. The choice of Parents’ Evenings this term is either Monday 17^th November or Monday 24^th November.

Stitchcraft Club will finish earlier, at 16.00, this week due to Parents’ Evening appointments.

YEAR 3

The trip to the Natural History Museum will now take place on 4^th December.

YEAR 5

The trip to Bristol will now take place on 27^th November rather than 4^th December.

Mrs. Lawson will require two further parents to accompany the trip. At least one parent may be asked to drive the Peugeot. Please contact her as soon as possible if you are able to help. Note the later return time of 16.30-17.00.

YEAR 7

Judy would like to confirm that the Globe Theatre trip will take place on Tuesday 2^nd December. We will leave at 07.45 and be back at 15.30. The children will need a packed lunch, a warm coat and no more than £10 to spend on Shakespearean artefacts.

We would like to remind parents that the Year 7 Parents’ Evening is on 1^st December. Letters will be sent home shortly.
