FunRaisers AGM & Meeting Thursday 2nd October 19.30 in the History Room

Come along to support the Dolphin FunRaisers, find out where the money has been spent to benefit the school and children and get involved! Everyone is welcome to attend and we will be serving wine and nibbles. The AGM will be followed by a short ordinary meeting to discusss hot lunch dates, Clipper update and events.

Family Fun & BBQ Next Friday 4.30pm-6.30pm

FunRaisers are planning an exciting range of eventsfor thisschool year starting with a social for all the family next Friday October 3rd from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on the school field.There will fun activities for the children including a craft tent, cake & cookie decorating, circus play session, football shoot-out and glitter tattoos. Tickets are £5 per child(on sale at school reception) to cover the cost of activities, and a cash bar and delicious BBQ will be available.

We are once again using Northbrook to raise money for Dolphin School. Each child should have brought home a Northbrook Gift Wrap brochure (there are spare forms and paper samples at the School Reception). For each item purchased Dolphin FunRaisers receives cash back so we hope you like the selection of items and that you will enjoy buying your wrapping paper from the comfort of your own home! If you would like to order items please complete the order form and leave it, with your cheque made payable to FunRaisers, at Reception. All order will be entered in the raffle for Snowball the cuddly bear. Please return all order forms BEFORE HALF TERM. Thank you.

Please note that all visa arrangements need to be handled by a child’s parents or guardians. This will include notifying the school that a child’s visa may prevent them travelling with the school group. In this situation you must notify the school that it needs to apply to use the “List of Travellers’ Visa Waiver Scheme”. Please note that parents of children with Non EU passports must ensure that their children can exit from and re-enter the UK. If not we must be informed by their parents so that we can apply for the above List of Travellers’ Waiver Form.

If your child is using their passport to travel with a Dolphin school party please ensure that you keep a photocopy of the child’s passport in your home.

May we remind parents that children cannot enter the car park unaccompanied.

May we please ask parents not to park in the staff car park.

May we remind everyone bringing children to school in the morning that they cannot be dropped off until 7.45am. Before that time there are no staff available to be responsible for the children (unless part of a trip arrangement).

Parents and Carers, please note that the SkyScales are “put away” at the end of the Dolphin Day. This part of the play equipment is NOT available out of school hours when children are being supervised by parents and carers.

Would all parents please note: if you bring non-Dolphin children into the school, those children must be supervised at all times by yourself.

Thank you to all parents who contributed to the PE kit sale. We made £224 in total. This will be used to buy some more equipment.

Opro Mouthguards are coming to the school on 29^th September.

The Cheltenham Literature Festival runs from 10th-19th October. Check out their website www.cheltenhamfestivals.com.

YEAR 5

Trip to Hampton Court on Tuesday 30^th September. The children will need a disposable lunch, waterproof/warm coat and pencil case. RETURN: Normal school time.

YEAR 6

Those parents who did not attend the North Wales Trip meeting need to speak to Adam Warner quickly after school on Tuesday 7^th October, 15.00 – 15.45, in the History Room. If this is not possible, they need to speak to David Holt at registration.

YEARS 6, 7 & 8

Invitations have now been sent for Year 6 and parents to watch Years 7 & 8 perform at Dolphin’s very first Poetry Cabaret evening on 8^th October at 19.30 in the hall. The English Department would really appreciate it if you could let them know if you are coming. Thanks.

Children in Years 7 & 8 performing in the Poetry Cabaret evening will need to stay after school until 17.30 for a final rehearsal.

ITALY TRIP - The flight details for the return flight from Pisa on Monday 27 October have changed. The group will now be returning on Easyjet flight 5232 arriving at Gatwick (South) at 10.45am. (Jan 22.9.08)
