World Book Day is on Thursday 6 March. Lots of exciting activities are planned for that day. The children will need to come prepared. A letter has already been sent home with all the details.

Congratulations to Hugh Welchman (Old D class of ’88) who has won an Oscar for the best animated short film for his film ‘Peter and the Wolf’!

Old D Claire Taylor has been the most important and highest scoring batsman on the England Women tour to the Antipodes. She was vital in winning the Ashes match against Australia with 79 and 64 not out. England also won the three match one day series against New Zealand with Claire again in two matches being the vital batsman with extremely impressive figures.

Club lists for the Summer term will go home early next week. Please return before Friday 7 March. See Vivien in the office with any problems or queries.

Sale of socks to raise money for Comic Relief will take place at lunchtime next week (beginning 4 March). £2 per pair.

A parent satisfaction questionnaire has been sent to all families. Your views are important to us. Completed forms should be returned to the school office by Friday 14 March.

PCV drivers. There are copies of the tachograph rules and instructions at the school reception. The master files in the buses also hold copies in the “rules on driver’s hours and tachograph” section.

As this is such a short term, the House Music competition now will take place during the first half of next term in order to give everyone extra time to prepare.

Cotswold Camping are offering a 10% discount on production of a Dolphin School compliment slip with the number D2043. If you would like one please ask at the school office.

Thanks for sending in Box Tops for Books - we have nearly 100 so far. The closing date is the end of March, so please keep those tokens coming! You will find them on nestlé cereals and cereal bars.

Friday 7 March - trip to Windsor Castle from 8am – 2.30pm. The children should be collected as usual at 3pm. They will need a disposable packed lunch and a waterproof in a small rucksack

Advance notice: The dates of the 2009 Ironbridge trip have changed from 28 June – 1 July to Tuesday 23-Friday 26 June.

Advance notice: The dates of the 2009 Senior Lakes Walking Trip have changed from 6-10 June to Friday 5 to Tuesday 9 June 2009.
