Monday 24 May – Sunday 30 May 2010
ISSUED Friday 21 May 2010
ALL
Reminder that Friday 28 May is an INSET day.
The children do not attend school on this day.
Wednesday 26 May is Care and Share Day.
Barnardos will be returning to school to attend our Assembly that day.
The children will need to bring their badges in to school on that day and there will be a prize draw for the Barnardos Teddy.
Thank you for your generous donations.
The school would like to thank the FunRaisers for our fantastic ball wall!
Dolphin summer hats (in House colours) are now available to buy from Reception for £5.
Unfortunately, due to lack of numbers signing up, the Summer Activity Week in July has been cancelled.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Photographs
:
Order packs for the class and sports teams photos will be sent home with the children towards the end of next week.
Please order your photos direct from Tempest by post (details included in the pack).
Unfortunately Tempest do not currently have the facility to order group photos on-line.
Please do not return your order forms to school.
Chess Tuition
:
We are considering running a chess club.
Thomas Rendle, an international Master who lives in the
UK, has expressed an interest in running the club.
The cost will be billed as usual through the school billing system.
A minimum of six children are needed for the club to run.
The cost will be in the region of £50 per term.
If your child is interested, please contact Mrs. Lawson at school.
Thomas has a web site which parents can view at
www.thomasrendle.co.uk.
If any non-bus driver parent would like to volunteer for a residential trip for the academic year 2010/2011 please take a form from the office.
It needs to be returned by 28 May.
FUNRAISERS
Funraisers would like to thank the many volunteers who organised a wonderful Hot Lunch last Friday and to express their appreciation for the plentiful supply of cakes! As usual, the children thoroughly enjoyed their lunch and helped raise £270.
INFORMATION & REMINDERS
(Much of the information in this section is either statutory or is passed on to you at the request of our insurers/other advisors)
Enclosed with your invoices for the academic year 2010/11, to be sent out very shortly, will be details of the Pupils’ Accident Insurance Scheme.
The scheme is now managed by Marsh, a name change from HSBC Insurance.
The other change is that we have reviewed the level of cover, and as a result of that review the cover has been increased from £1,000,000 to £2,000,000.
We feel after consultation with our insurers that this is now a more satisfactory amount of cover for our pupils.
Please read the leaflet carefully so that you understand the cover provided and keep it with your school documentation.
The premium, as previously, is included in the school fees.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Linda Charlesworth.
Visas
:
Please not that all visa arrangements are the responsibility of a child’s parents or guardians.
Parents of children with non-EU passports must ensure that their children can exit from and re-enter the
UK.
If the above assurance is not in place your child may be prevented from travelling with the school group.
If you are in any doubt that your child can travel you must notify the school and contact the trip leader or Linda Charlesworth.
We will then be able to apply to use the List of Travelers Visa Waiver Scheme.
We would like to make it clear to parents that pupils’ possessions are not insured whilst they are on the school premises (they are insured whilst they are on trips).
Your household insurer will be able to advise you whether your policy covers loss of items whilst at school and, if not, whether such cover could be made available on your existing policy.
Our Insurance Brokers, HSBC, can provide you with an annual policy if you wish.
If you would like further details, please contact Linda Charlesworth.
