WEEKLY CALENDAR OF EVENTS NO. 414

Monday 28 September – Sunday 4 October 2009

ISSUED Friday 25 September 2009

ALL

Congratulations to Ms Neal and Mrs Hicks on passing their CPC driving tests!

If your child is absent due to illness please telephone or email the school office on the morning of the first day of absence. If you need to take your child out of school for any other reason please drop in a note to the school office. For your children’s safety we need to know where they are during term time.

If your child is late for morning registration please would you remind him to come to the office to sign in, or come in yourself to register him.

Will all parents please note that if for any reason you cannot collect your children on time, they must go to After School Care (Reception to Year 5) or Homework Club (Years 6-8).

Judy Seall is looking for any old brown suitcases. Please have a search in your attics and bring them in as soon as possible.

Science Week and Science Challenge

Thank you to all those parents who have offered to come and speak to the children about how they use science in their professions.

We are still hoping that some of you will be able to help with our Crime Scene investigations on

1 October with Year 6. Please see Mrs. Lawson if you are available between 08.00 to 12.30 on that day.

Plus

The Science Department is laying down the challenge to all you creative people out there.

We are offering prizes for artwork that depicts an inventor or an invention or it can be an idea of an invention yet to be discovered. Be it a picture, a collage or a 3D model we look forward to seeing your exhibits by 1 October.

Funraisers would like to thank everyone who supported the Family BBQ last Friday. It was wonderful to see so many adults and children enjoying a great evening and the weather, for once, was on our side. As usual, a big thank you is owed to the many volunteers for their hard work in organizing, setting up and manning the event.

The Funraisers AGM is on Monday 5th October. Please come if you can - we would love to see you there.”

Please note that Dolphin pupils are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. Special circumstances will need to be discussed with Chris Leakey and, if agreed, phones may be left with Vivien in the school office for the day.

If your child needs to take medicine during the school day, please bring it to the school reception with your written permission and the dates and times it should be given. Dolphin staff will do their very best to ensure that medicines you bring in to school are administered to pupils. Because of the nature of school life we cannot make an absolute guarantee.

May we remind parents that the sky scales are only for children’s use when supervised by Dolphin staff. Please do not allow children to use them when they are in your care.
