Year 8 will champion several charities on Wednesday 2^nd during assembly. The children will then choose the charity that the fair will support on 7^th December. At this fair the children run their own stalls with the support of their form teachers. We are sorry that we cannot invite parents to the fair because of space restrictions!

A reminder that the school will be closed for the day on Friday 4 December. There will, however be a play rehearsal for all Year 5 on that day, see below. A schedule for the rehearsal will be sent out shortly.

YEAR 5 PLAY- 15^TH AND 16^TH December

Year 5 are working extremely hard this year on the production of ‘Lost Mate’ and are eagerly awaiting you as an audience. We would like you to sign up at Reception for the day(s) that you intend to attend. This is to help us with seating arrangements and ensure that all have a comfortable view. This does not guarantee a specific seat.

Could any parent who is willing and able to accompany Year 6 to the National Gallery on Thursday 10 December please contact Heloise Robinson at school. We will need parents to drive the school cars and also parents to accompany us in the gallery. Many thanks in anticipation!

The drama department would like to recommend the following show this Christmas: Simon Callow in ‘Dr Marigold & Mr Chops’ – two one-man plays by Charles Dickens. It opens on 9 December at the Riverside Studios in London, and according to the website is suitable for anyone age 8 and over. You might also like to check out Footsbarn Theatre Company performing at Shakespeare’s Globe from 22 December until 3 January – their show promises to be a family feast of carnival, comedy and Christmas cheer.

FUNRAISERS

Dolphin’s Eco Warriors are arranging this term’s hot lunch on Thursday December 3^rd. They have sourced some delicious local produce to supplement the normal menu including sausages, leek and potato soup, fresh apple juice and fruit.

The school disco will now be on January 15^th”

The gift wrap order has arrived and is ready for collection in the School Reception.

Gallery viewing on Monday 30 November, 09.30 – 14.30. All are welcome.

YEARS 1 & 2

Christmas Play Thursday 10 December at 2pm and Tuesday 15 December 11am. Don’t forget to pick up your two allocated tickets at the school reception. If you want to bring your toddler please let us know (they count in the total number of people for fire regulations). We will be having a lottery for any spare tickets on Tuesday 8 December so if you would like a chance of extra tickets please sign up at the school reception.

Panto at Southill Park on Thursday 3 December 12.30-4.15/30. The children will be able to go to the hot lunch first, so they will need a drink and snack for first break, money for the hot lunch and an extra drink and snack to take to the panto please.

YEAR 2

Parents Evening on Monday 30 November, 18.30 – 20.30 (Science 2 Meadow Building). Please arrive at the time indicated on your reply slip.

YEAR 5

Rehearsal 4 December. Please would all the cast arrive by 9am. Mrs Lawson will be in school for 8 o’clock for earlier arrivals. Pick up for black and white pawns 2pm. Main speaking parts 4pm. Details to follow.

YEARS 5-8

All pupils wishing to go on a walking trip in the summer need to write me a short letter explaining why they would like to go. This letter also needs to be counter-signed by a parent/guardian. Adam Warner

Parents evening Wednesday December 2^nd in the Hall. Please arrive at the time indicated on your reply slip.

Years 7 & 8

The sports department would like to arrange a short cricket/tennis tour to Gloucestershire for Years 7&8. This would be from Friday 21^st – Saturday 22^nd May 2010. We would stay at a Youth Hostel and the approximate cost of the tour would be £35 per pupil. As we will not be selecting the participants until the Summer term I realise this is difficult, but could you let me know whether you are available. Many thanks. Adam Warner.

Mock Exams will begin on Monday 30 November

On Thursday 17 December there will be a theatre trip to see Terry Pratchett’s Nation at the National Theatre. We should be back between 18.00 – 19.00, but timings will be confirmed once the National Theatre can give us a running time for the show.
