FunRaisers is looking forward to seeing you at this Sunday’s Summer Fayre and Circus, 12.00 – 5.00pm. Tickets are still on sale today (Friday) from the school reception or can be purchased on the day from the ticket desk at the field entrance. £1 entry to the Fayre, £4 for the circus prior to the day, £5 on the day (2 yrs and under are free). As well as the two circus shows and numerous stalls, there are bouncy castles, toy and book stalls, penalty and netball shoot outs, an Entertainment zone, BBQ and Bar and much, much more. Please come along and have some fun! If you can volunteer any time to help on the day then please let your Clipper know. Donations of cakes would be much appreciated and can be bought in on Saturday morning between 8.00am and 11.00am or on Sunday.

An exciting letter has been sent out by the English department inviting you to a family evening of poetry and fun with the dragon-loving poet, Nick Toczek on 4 July. Free tickets available from Reception. Please refer to the letter for all necessary information. Vivien will have copies if the letter has gone astray.

The next FunRaisers Hot Lunch is on Thursday 23 June.

Photographs : The order packs for the class and sports teams photos have been sent home with the children today (Years 2, 3 & 4 will receive theirs on Monday due to Sports Day today). Please order your photos direct from Tempest by post (details included in the pack). Unfortunately Tempest do not currently have the facility to order group photos on-line. Please do not return your order forms to school. Full size prints are on display in school for you to view from today (Nursery, Reception & Year 1 are displayed in the classrooms and Years 2 – 8 and the sports teams are displayed in the school Reception).

Cricket Team photos are not available just yet, but will be on view in the photo gallery on the website from Thursday of next week and prints will be on display in Reception together with an order form for you to complete if you would like copies.

Senior Concert : Our Senior Concert is on Wednesday 22 June, 7.30 – 9.00pm approximately. All parents are welcome. Please would instrumentalists arrive at 7.00pm and other performers at 7.15pm.

Concert rehearsals – please would all strings and windband players have their instruments in school every day next week.

We have sent home Music Practice Sponsorship sheets with our instrumentalists to raise some of the additional funds needed for our very popular baby grand piano. We thought this might be a good incentive for more practice too!

Art exhibition : Julian Renouf (artist in residence) is exhibiting some recent paintings in his studio from 18 June, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.00am – 8.00pm until 3 July. Sports Days:

Cottage Sports Day (Rec & Year 1) will be held on Friday 1 July 11.00am - 1.00pm and Nursery Sports on Tuesday 5 July at 10.00 – 1.00. Letters with further details will be sent home. The Senior Sports Day will now be held on 11 July.

Mrs Maltese, the singing teacher, is holding trial lessons the week commencing 27 June and on Wednesday 13 July for pupils who are interested in beginning singing lessons in September. Please leave your child’s name and contact details in Reception and Mrs Maltese will contact you. Individual 20 minute lessons will be £130.50 per term and group lessons are £87 per term for 2011/12 .

Would parents who need to park in the school grounds in a period outside of “pick up” time, please do so in the main school parking area. The playing fields should not be driven on to without prior arrangement.

NURSERY

Topic Trip on Wednesday 22 June, 9.00am – 12.00pm. The children will need sensible footwear, a waterproof coat if wet or sunscreen ready applied and a sunhat if sunny.

RECEPTION

Trip to Bournemouth Aquarium on Monday 20 June, 8.00am – 4.30pm. The children will need a picnic lunch in a disposable carrier, sensible footwear, waterproof coat if wet, or sunscreen ready applied and a hat if sunny.

YEAR 2

Trip to Henley Rowing Museum on Tuesday 21 June, 9.00am – 3.00pm. The children will need a picnic lunch in a disposable carrier, sensible footwear and a waterproof coat if wet.

YEAR 3

Under 8 and 9 cricket matches v St Edward’s on 24 June are cancelled due to re-scheduling their sports day. Apologies.

A reminder for parents who are considering Wellington College for their son or daughter in Year Nine (2013) that the closing date for registration is 30 June, 2011.
