Would an enthusiastic parent like to volunteer to join our Autumn 2009 Cross Country club? It involves assisting every week on Mondays - 15.35 - 16.35. Volunteers please contact the school office.

Susie Fison has some availability for flute lessons next term, particularly for Years 3 and 4. Please drop a note in at the School Reception if you are interested.

School Photos

Order forms for the Form, Sports and Whole School photos are still available in the Meadow Building Reception. Orders will now, however, need to be mailed directly to Tempest (details on the order forms).

Junior Sports Day (Years 3- 4) – Tuesday 7 July 10.30 - 12.30.

You may take Juniors home after Sports Day, if you sign them out in the School Reception, there will be lessons for those who remain in school

Senior Sports Day (Years 5, 6, 7 and 8) Tuesday 7 July 13.30 - 15.30

Years 3- 8

Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch to share with your child on the field. If you ask your children to join you for lunch or sign them out of school then they are your responsibility. For their safety please keep children away from all areas where there are moving vehicles.

Parents often ask if siblings may attend their brother’s and sister’s sports days. We would prefer that siblings remain in lessons and do not accompany their brothers and sisters. We wish to keep each sports day special to that particular age group. Children from different age groups attending their sibling’s sports days have in the past been rather a distraction to the event.

Sports Day Clothing Years 3 - 8: The children will need to wear a T-shirt (without a design) in their house colours (white - York, green – Tudor, red – Lancaster and yellow – Plantagenet). They should also wear the rest of their normal PE kit (shorts, tracksuit tops and bottoms) and bring a sun hat, ideally in house colours, which may be purchased from reception (£5). The children should have suncream and water.

Please park as per the caretakers’ instructions and drive at walking pace on the field and in parking areas. Please shut the overflow gate if you enter or exit while it is closed.

All Library Books must be returned by Wednesday 8 July. Thank you.

A big thank you for supporting the Puffin Book club. We have received just over £600 worth of free books for the library and English II classroom bookshelves. Thank you for collecting Box Top tokens. We have received £28 worth of free books. Thank you also for collecting Books for Schools tokens. We have just ordered 7 new books.

May we remind parents that the children should be wearing a named sun hat when outside in the hot weather at school.

Please note that Dolphin pupils are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. Special circumstances will need to be discussed with Chris Leakey or Vivien Bowyer.

May we remind parents that children displaying flu like symptoms should stay home. Please contact your GP surgery by phone for advice.
