WEEKLY CALENDAR OF EVENTS NO. 433
Monday 15 March – Sunday 21 March 2010
ISSUED Friday 12 March 2010
ALL
We have just received our final Inspection report and we are very pleased with it. As we expected, your children are the real stars of it and phrases such as “the personal development of pupils is excellent . . .”, “the pupils’ exemplary behaviour . . .”, “the pupils’ excellent attitudes to their learning” and “Pupils’ social awareness is outstanding” show that they are a real credit to you. We will be e-mailing a copy to you in the next week or so, along with our overall responses to the report. Thank you, as always, for all your support.
The school is interested in inviting a consultant to propose and carry out a marketing plan for Dolphin. We currently have £5,000 of budget available per annum to pay as a fee to the consultant and there is a moderate budget available to cover the costs of marketing. We would welcome proposals from anyone who is interested.
The school would like to thank all those parents who helped at the last hot lunch (see below).
The Dolphin Choir entered the Woodley Festival for the very first time in the Year 4 and under section. The children sung fantastically, were highly commended, and actually won their section! Well done!
The DVD’s for those who sang at the O2 are now ready for collection from reception.
We are supporting the Sport Relief Mile run on Friday 19 March. Please bring a fancy dress costume for running, and a minimum of £3 for the pleasure of running around the school field several times!!! An opportunity for a lot of fun, to raise some money for an excellent cause and to get fit.
Club lists were given out on Tuesday this week. Please return to the office as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Judo is cancelled on 23 March because of the school play arrangements.
All parents are cordially invited to this year’s Years 7 & 8 play called The Truly Terrifying Tale of the Bones Children. The play will be performed on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March at 19.30. You are advised that the play is suitable for Year 3 upwards.
Dolphin winter hats are available to purchase from the school Reception, priced at £9. These are knitted with a warm fleece lining and profits from the sales will go towards Sport Relief.
We are collecting the Sainsbury Active Kids and Tesco for Schools vouchers. If you have any to donate, please pop them in to the school Reception.
FunRaisers
Eco Warriors-
The Eco Warriors are once more concerning themselves about improving our environment. They will be planting plug plants in the field at 12.30 on the 16 March. The plants are very kindly supplied by Herbiseed- a local company in Twyford. Eco Warriors should meet at the blue bench in the playground with their lunch at 12.15.
FunRaisers would like to thank everyone for the support they gave to last week’s Hot Lunch. As usual the helpers worked tirelessly and there was an exceptional amount of delicious cakes donated for the event. A fantastic profit of £330 was reached.
Cotswold Camping are offering a 10% discount on production of a Dolphin School compliment slip with the number D2043. If you would like one, please ask the school office.
