Congratulations to every child in Years 3 to 8 who performed in the highly successful house music festival. It was a colourful celebration of talent enjoyed by all. So many staff helped make it such a wonderful occasion: special thanks must go to David Cooper who coordinated the entire event.

You are cordially invited to an evening on reading hosted by the English Department on Monday 28 April. There will be talks on different aspects of reading and the supporting of reading as well as books on display for you to browse and buy during the evening. Arrive at 7pm for light refreshments. An introduction to the evening will be given at 7.30pm.

We are delighted to announce that Judy Seall is Acting Head of English and Jami Castell is Acting Deputy Head of English (with responsibility for Foundation Stage and Years 1 to 3).

It is good to see our new staff settling in so well: Di Harris works as a teaching assistant with Year 3, Siân Moore teaches Spanish and Fiona Williams helps in Nursery.

Claire Smith is our marketing manager and will be focussing entirely on this role as from September. Paul Foster will be joining the mathematics department as her replacement next term.

To simplify the procedure for the late return of library books, children will now be given two reminders then the cost of the book will be added to the next bill. We are keen to promote reading and so the simpler the procedure of dealing with late book returns the better.

Would all parents please note: if you bring non-Dolphin children into the school, those children must be supervised at all times by yourselves.

Children are going to be reminded in assembly to keep their school bags as light in weight as possible. May we ask parents to help children to only select their books and equipment required for the current day.

If any non-bus driver parent would like to volunteer to drive the school people carriers for a residential trip for the academic year 2008/9 please take a form from the reception desk, it needs to be returned as soon as possible.

Cherbourg Trip. Children should meet at school at 5am on Monday 28 April to allow for a prompt departure. It is expected that the trip will arrive back at school on Friday 2 May at approximately midnight.
