A parent seeking a place at Dolphin will be asked to complete our Registration and Assessment Form. Children aged five and above will then be invited to spend a day at Dolphin so that we may get to know them and assess them in Maths and English. The curriculum at Dolphin is suited to the more academically able child and an offer of a place will be made if we feel that the child will flourish and be happy here.
A Nursery aged child will be invited to a familiarisation session in the term before proposed entry. In Nursery there is no formal assessment.
Primarily children join Dolphin in Nursery at the age of three, or in Reception in the Autumn term following their fourth birthday. We also have an intake into Years Six and Seven where generous scholarships are available. Spaces sometimes become available in other years and we can offer waiting list places.
To find out more about our assessment days please contact our Registrar, Jan Vernon, on 0118 934 1277, who will be happy to help.
