Why choose Dolphin?

“An exciting, challenging, dynamic learning environment” is how the ISI inspection report described Dolphin School.

“The warmth of the greeting everywhere is striking and genuine”, observed The Good Schools Guide 2008.

Children love being at Dolphin. We believe that learning should be an enjoyable, challenging and stimulating experience. By the age of seven Dolphin children are already benefiting from the careful guidance of subject specialist teachers and are able to flourish in small classes of fewer than twenty. Our friendly and supportive atmosphere allows children to rise to the many opportunities on offer beyond a standard curriculum.

There is a ‘hands-on’ approach to learning which begins with a Montessori-style structure in our Nursery. A unique strength of Dolphin is our residential field trip programme where education comes to life. Beginning in Year Three with a three-day stay in East Sussex, the programme covers locations both at home and abroad and ends in Year Eight with almost two weeks in Italy or Normandy. We also offer extensive mountain-walking opportunities from Year Four in locations ranging from the Brecon Beacons to the Alps. Almost all associated costs of all trips are included in the fees.

Our examination results are impressive and we regularly win major scholarships to leading independent senior schools and places at prestigious grammar schools. Many senior schools elect head boys and girls who have come from Dolphin School.
