Year 2

Children are taught mainly in their own classroom but many of their lessons are now taught by subject specialists. This is one of the unique aspects of the school; it underpins the learning at Dolphin and ensures that the children are receiving a first class education, delivered by passionate, enthusiastic staff.

Year Two children will enjoy both pre-prep and main school assemblies and have the opportunity to perform and present in both. This is an excellent way to develop their confidence and communication skills.

They enjoy Classics, Drama, Traditional Games and Story time, as well as the more 'normal' subjects, such as English, Maths and French.

The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3pm. Clubs are on offer after school and these vary each term. There is an After School care programme available until 5.45pm. For details of Pre- and After School Care, please view our Extra Curricular page. Parents are encouraged to discuss their individual requirements on a termly basis.

There is a wide range of day trips each term that complement the learning in school. These include Verulamium, Windsor Castle, Milestones museum, Henley river and rowing museum, the Living Rainforest and Reading Museum
