Repair Cafe

Dolphin School held its first Repair Café on Sunday 6th November 2016, transforming the Hall into a DIY skills sharing hub! Thanks to Reading's Repair Café organisers, Rachel and Alex Goater, we welcomed a team of skilled volunteers as well as our own handy fix it team of parents to offer their skills and give a new lease of life to an array of household items.

Watches, dresses, mirrors, stools, bikes, toys, remote controls, electric pianos, picture frames and even a lawnmower were given some TLC and families were delighted with their mended objects.

Catherine Lewis, Earth Studies Teacher at Dolphin School and Event Facilitator said: "'The Repair Café created a lovely vibe in the Hall and families were left with a great feeling as their belongings were given a new lease of life. During our Earth Studies lessons, children often ask what they can do to help the environment and we were delighted to see so many of them developing their DIY skills and showing their commitment to our planet!'
