Outdoor Learning Cabin - Nursery were invited to the opening of the new  Outdoor Learning Cabin on the school field.

Last Wednesday TV celebrity and ex-Dolphin School pupil, Matt Allwright (Rogue Traders and The One Show), opened Dolphin School’s new outdoor classroom. Matt cut the ribbon to cheers from Dolphin’s Nursery children, who were very excited to explore their cabin-style classroom, which has been cleverly built to incorporate the lovely ash trees in the surrounds of the school. Inside, the classroom was already equipped with rugs and materials to explore the seasons of the year.

“I remember that some of the happiest times of my life at Dolphin were spent learning outdoors,” said Matt. “Dolphin School is a very special place because of its unique education that blends the many day and residential trips with a love of learning in school.”

The school has received funding from Wokingham Borough Council for this project and Veronica Gibbs, Headmistress, and Cathy Thomas, Head of Pre-Prep, were delighted that the Council were able to attend the opening ceremony. Both Shellye Hanson, Service Manager for Early Years and Childcare, and Richard Stanley, Head of Learning Achievement, were interested to learn that the school now has staff who are undertaking training to become a Forest School in the near future.

Trips - Nursery have also enjoyed trips to Waltham Farm Estate and Ashenbury Park.
