For more than forty years Dolphin School has seen its trip programme as central to the philosophy and educational objectives of the school.
We have over 200 children aged between three and thirteen who share in an annual experience of about 120 days out of the classroom. Day trips start in our Nursery and by the end of Year Eight they will have been on more than 60 of these. Residential field trips begin with our seven year olds spending three days in East Sussex and end with our thirteen year olds spending up to two weeks in Normandy or Italy. We also have a walking trip programme which begins in the South Downs for our eight year olds and culminates in a week's camping in the Alps for our oldest children. Amongst each group of dedicated staff are qualified mountain leaders and instructors. There are many cross-curricular aspects to the trip programme and the hands-on education is of real benefit to the children, as are the life and social skills they develop by being with their peer group away from home.
Almost all costs associated with this extensive programme are included in the fees.
