As part of the Year One Water and Rivers topic, Year One visited the river at Henley-on-Thames today. The children had a great time and undertook a wide variety of activities including:-

  • Spotting and tallying river birds
  • Sketching the bridge over the River Thames
  • Making wishes on a wishing tree
  • Observing the flow of water through the weir
  • Learning about how a lock works
  • Discovering a wide variety of boats on the river

Despite it being a very windy day, the children had great fun and they remembered lots of interesting facts about the river on return to school.
