Year 6 braved the threatening elements to walk around the walls of Silchester in search of their pre-roman ancestors. Luckily the monsoon rains cleared and they could hear about the story of the Roman developments and look at the wall's construction, and visit the amphitheatre. Later on, after lunch in the luxurious dressing rooms of Reading Town Hall, they became the first school visitors to Reading museum since lockdown, and handled many of the artefacts dug up at Silchester. The pleasure on the faces of the museum staff was evident.
