Year 2 had an 'out of this world' experience at the Winchester Science Centre. We started our day with a rocket workshop in which the children worked in groups to design their own rockets and launched them to see how far they would go. We then went into the planetarium where we looked up at the night sky and learnt about the different constellations. We then zoomed to Jupiter to look at the Great Red Spot as well as looking at Saturn's rings. After lunch we explored all of the practical exhibits including dressing up as an astronaut, feeling the different weights of a can of beans on different planets and we worked as a team using pulleys and levers to build a wall and create a huge ball run. A stellar day out!
