Y3 East Sussex Field Trip

Back

In Year Three the children embark on their first residential trip to East Sussex. The experience begins at school in the Spring Term when they decorate their own shields either in a Norman or a Saxon shield shape. During the trip the children have the opportunity to learn about the geology and geography to the South Downs, visit a lifeboat station, re-enact the Battle of Hastings using their own shields and sketch an early brick-built castle. However, the most important aspect of the trip is the growth of confidence and independence which is visible in every child at the end of the three days.
