Y2 have taken a trip into space at the Winchester Science Centre. Our day started with exploring the properties of matter on Earth by making slime from a collection of liquids. Methylated spirit produced the gas vapour to fuel our rocket workshop with explosive results. Our rocket blasted across the ceiling on their flight towards the edge of the Solar System.  We explored the hands-on exhibits about the planets and space travel. On the upper floor a new exhibit about sound guided our investigations about how we hear, and we all enjoyed feeling the vibrations produced on the giant strings of the guitar. Everyone was full of curiosity and questions! Super scientific knowledge here on Earth and jetting into space in the Planetarium!
