Year 4 spent an amazing day visiting Eastbrook Farm which is the home of Helen Browning Organic meats.  Clive Hill, the farm manager, talked about organic rotations and outdoor farming of pigs and cows.  The children saw week old pigs, day old calves and a field which has been given over to conservation and biodiversity.  The more they looked, the more different plants they saw – burdock, vetch, sunflowers, millet, poppies and even wheat.  The farm is also home to 7 different families of bird which are on the red list of vulnerable species.  To complete the ‘Farm to Fork’ experience the children enjoyed a delicious lunch in the village made from local organic produce.
