We currently find ourselves in another national lockdown. During this difficult time, it is essential that we continue to support our children in every way possible. As with the previous lockdown, we feel that the balance of lessons and time away from the screen is a delicate one, and one that we have made every effort to get right. Our staff have done an outstanding job of preparing and delivering their lessons online this term, and the feedback received from parents in the first few days of the Spring Term has been full of praise and appreciation.
All of our boys and girls continue to access and receive a high quality education via Microsoft Teams. For Years 3-8, their timetables have essentially remained the same as normal, with a few breaks fitted in to allow time away from screens. For Reception, Year One and Year Two, timetables have been appropriately modified to suit the age of the children. Subject specialists deliver their usual lessons online, inspiring and enthusing our boys and girls as they would in school. All scheduled classes are live, with personal engagement and communication an integral part of all lessons. Additionally, we have a range of activities set up through PE, Forest School and Library channels for those children who wish to access these outside of their normal timetables. Moreover, we have also included two form times each day, a mentoring session for children in Years 5-8 once a week, after school online clubs for Years 3-8, and much more, so that it is not only academic progress that is being accounted for, but also the social and emotional needs of our children.
