Admissions

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child, and at Dolphin School we are here to support you every step of the way. Our admissions process is designed to give families a genuine sense of who we are—our values, our community, and the joyful learning environment that defines us. We welcome you to explore what makes Dolphin such a special place, where curiosity is encouraged, individuality is celebrated, and children are inspired to thrive.

To gain a deeper understanding of what makes our school truly unique, we warmly invite you to book a personal tour. During your visit, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet our Headmaster for an informal chat and to ask any questions you may have. Seeing Dolphin in action is the best way to experience our nurturing atmosphere, engaging classrooms, and vibrant school.

Admissions Process

Our admissions process is designed to be friendly, transparent, and supportive, ensuring that every family feels informed and confident at each step. We take the time to get to know your child as an individual and to help you understand how Dolphin School can nurture their talents, interests, and wellbeing. Below, you’ll find an overview of each stage in the journey to joining our school.

Prospective Parents are encouraged to register their child once they have visited. There is a £120 non-refundable registration fee applicable. Each registration form is acknowledged in writing and, where places are available, confirmation is given. Please note, however, there are waiting lists in some year groups. Although the majority of children join in September, children can be admitted at any time during the academic year as long as space is available.

A £500 deposit is requested before a pupil joins us. At this time an Acceptance Form and Parent Contract will be sent. The deposit will be offset against fees at the end of the child’s career at Dolphin.

We look forward to welcoming you to Dolphin School.

To apply please complete our Registration Form below.

Early Years Process

For Early Years children, a Familiarisation Session is booked in the term before their proposed term of entry. We also offer Nursery 'Stay and Play' sessions each term which you are invited to attend, which will give you plenty of opportunity to get to know the Early Years staff.

Children aged 5 and above are invited to spend a Taster Day at Dolphin with their peer group. An offer of a place will be made if we feel, after consultation with the staff, that your child would flourish and be happy at Dolphin.

Children can join Dolphin Nursery at any time from the age of 3 and they are eligible for entry into the Reception class in the autumn term following their 4th birthday. We do also accept children, particularly at this young age, at other times in the school year. Spaces are sometimes available in other year groups and we can offer waiting list places.

Early registration is recommended.  Each child requires a separate registration form. Registrations will be considered in the order they are received.  Offers of places are subject to availability and the admission requirements of the School at the time offers are made.

The acceptance by the School of this registration form does not guarantee that an offer of a place will be made and does not give rise to any contractual relationship.  A copy of the current edition of the Terms and Conditions will be supplied on request.
