The House System
From Year 1, every pupil joins one of four Houses—Lancaster, Plantagenet, Tudor, or York—creating a sense of identity and belonging within the wider school community.
Throughout the year, pupils participatecollaboratively in a series of competitions that combine intellectual, creative, and sporting challenges, from public speaking and quizzes to team games and athletic events. These activities foster teamwork, resilience, and friendly rivalry, encouraging pupils to support and celebrate one another’s successes. Older pupils take on House Captain roles, developing leadership by organising events, mentoring younger members, and motivating their peers.
The House system strengthens cross-year connections, builds pride and commitment, and provides a dynamic framework for collaboration and personal growth. It all culminates in the moment the House Cup is awarded, at the last assembly of the academic year—a hotly anticipated highlight for the whole school.
