Adventure Trips
From Year 4 onwards, pupils participate in the Adventure Trip Programme, progressing from local walks on the South Downs to more challenging expeditions in the Lake District, and culminating in eight-day alpine adventures in the French Alps by Year 8.
Along the way, they tackle iconic routes, coasteering, scrambling, climbing, and Via Ferrata climbs, developing resilience, independence, and problem-solving skills. Pupils also learn practical skills in navigation, camp-craft, and teamwork, while gaining confidence and self-awareness. By experiencing physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges together, children expand their horizons, build lasting friendships, and gain an understanding of their capabilities—preparing them for adventurous, collaborative, and reflective approaches in both school and life beyond.
