Learning Support

Throughout the school pupils are well educated...they have good standards of knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to their ages and abilities.

The Learning Support Department at Dolphin recognises that children may not achieve their basic milestones designated by their chronological age and that well-timed support can remedy or identify a specific difficulty. It also recognises that all abilities of children can have specific difficulties with their learning.

The department is staffed with a small team of experienced and highly qualified practitioners who can offer both diagnosis and specialist support for a range of learning difficulties including; dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia.

One to one lessons are provided by specialists where it is necessary for the child to receive individualised tailored lessons for their particular needs. These are at an additional cost. Where possible support is also provided by subject staff and teaching assistants in the class, the department providing advice and resources where appropriate.
