New Minibus Service

Getting to and from school just got easier. From this September, Dolphin School is delighted to introduce a new minibus service, providing convenient daily pick-up and drop-off points in Bix, Henley-on-Thames and Wargrave. The service has been designed to make the school run simpler and more accessible for families across the local area, while giving children a relaxed and friendly start and end to their school day. With convenient routes, safe and comfortable transport, our new minibus service is another way Dolphin is helping families make the most of everything our school has to offer.

Arrangements for students’ journeys to and from school are the responsibility of their parents. To assist with discharging this responsibility, Dolphin School provides a School Transport scheme. Parents are responsible for their children at all times, including both prior to and after boarding and alighting.

Parents of all School Transport users must email bursar@dolphinschool.com to sign up to the School Transport routes or if you have any questions.

Bookings are made on a first come first served basis and the School reserves the right to declare a route full and not provide additional capacity on that service if it is uneconomical to do so.

FAQ's

Q: Why are you partnering with an external company to assist with minibus routes?

A: Partnering with a trusted local company ensures that we have resilience in terms of

both driver and vehicle availability for the whole term – if we were to manage the service

in house, we might have di iculties when minibuses are needed for trips or if a driver fell

in at short notice.

Q: Are all minibus drivers DBS checked?

A: Yes, all of our minibus drivers will have a completed enhanced DBS check

Q: What safety features are used for your School Transport Scheme?

A: Vehicles will have a tracker fitted, so that their locations can be pinpointed at any

time

Q: How can I contact the driver, if my child is ill or not able to travel?

A: All families using the service will be given emergency contact details for the School

Transport Scheme when they sign up, and can contact the driver to let them know if

children are not travelling

Q: Why do I have to pay in advance?

A: The partner company requires payment up front for a full term in order to set up the

bus route

Q: Will I get a refund if I decide that my child no longer wants to use the School

Transport Scheme?

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to provide refunds if you/your child chooses not to use

the School Transport.

Q: My children are in Pre Prep, can they use the School Transport?

A: Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate Early Years Foundation Stage aged

children on the School Transport at the present time. Children in Years 1 and 2 may be

permitted to use the School Transport Scheme, but parents must be confident that their

children are able to maintain the behavioural standards required whilst on the bus.
