A very special Team GB visit at Dolphin!
The ‘Get Set’ for Positive Energy Winter Games Competition, linked to the Winter Olympics, challenged pupils to imagine how the Games could become more environmentally sustainable through innovative eco-friendly designs and solutions. Competing against more than 400 entries from schools across the UK, our students achieved an extraordinary level of success, winning the overall competition (Marly) and securing an additional two runner-up awards (Isabel & Florrie).
Their outstanding ideas, creativity, and commitment to sustainability captured the attention of the judges and brought national recognition to the school. As a result of their achievements, pupils were rewarded with inspiring visits from Team GB skeleton athlete Matt Weston and Paralympian Frankie Allen, providing unforgettable experiences and firsthand insight into elite sport. The success also secured a combined £6,000 eco-grant for the school, enabling further investment in environmental and sustainability initiatives. We also were given a banner with the winners name and design to hang outside the front of the school.
This remarkable accomplishment demonstrated not only our pupils' innovative thinking and environmental awareness but also their ability to compete and excel on a national stage. It remains one of our most celebrated achievements, highlighting the positive impact young people can have in shaping a more sustainable future.
